A Close Shave

A close shave is a very important process of the day for most men. If done incorrectly, the skin can be damaged and irritated. To attain a close shave, it is a good idea to shower with warm water and shave afterwards, or shave while one is still in the shower. Direct and constant contact with warm water will help soften the beard or mustache hair, and consequently, attain a closer shave. When you brush on the soap onto your skin, make sure to go against the grain, for it will allow the soap to lather up. To attain a close shave, one must position the razor at a 90 degree angle. Taking short, slow, and gentle strokes is also the best idea. Do not force the razor against your skin, and do not press it too gently, for it will not remove the hair effectively. If you have finished shaving, and you run your hands over your face and still feel stubble, you can reshave. This time, however, you must shave at a sharper angle, almost going against the grain, in order to get a close shave. This is to make sure that you remove the hair that grows in somewhat different directions than the rest of the hair on your face. When you are done shaving completely, rinse your face with cold water, making sure to remove all of the unwanted hair as well as the soap. Using a towel, dry your face by patting it. Afterwards, make sure to utilize an oil-free moisturizer or some other shaving product that will keep your skin smooth and protected throughout the day.
